Dust from the Sahara Desert blows across the Atlantic to the U.S. every summer. … But even healthy people can have an inflammatory response to the foreign dust, which can make you feel sick. Asthma sufferers get the brunt of the blow when the Saharan Dust hits. People with allergy issues also suffer. Symptoms can include trouble breathing, asthma attacks, incessant sneezing, swelling of the throat and eyes, coughing, watery and itchy eyes, runny and stuffy nose. Continue to monitor the dust storm and protect yourself with a mask if you normally suffer from Asthma.
